it will make sure that you're pc dosn't fry to death, so long as you don't exceed the capacity of the psu. 600w is a fairly large psu so you won't have to worry about frying up quite yet!
as for increasing your performance, it will only increase the performance if you have some behemoth component which could only operate at a lower capability on PSU's with a lower wattage. For example, if you owned the new 8800GTX graphics card which requires at least 500w for a reccomended speed but you only owned a 400w, the card will automatically lower it's specification to match that. however, more often that not, pcs will just fry so i guess the answer to your question is usually no, it's just a safe bet knowing your psu is capable of running your machine without being a ticking time bomb.

Hi. 600W will usually be quite good enough for a long time. It will, however, only increase performance if your old PSU was inadequate. The biggest gain is voltage stability.

You power grant shouldn't strengthen your overall performance at as quickly as. If would be certain that your hardware isn't starved for clean power. working example, if all your hardware desires 250 watts to run under load, and you have a 300 Watt, there is an hazard that a power spike or drop ought to reason your gadget to crash or lockup. you will possibly desire to continuously be certain you have extra power than you prefer. additionally, a "3 hundred Watt" PSU isn't easily offered a non-end clean 300W, quite over the years because of the fact the internals age and ruin down.
