As of 2005, he was still touring in a group called Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone, delivering on stage and capturing the charm of the original band despite a revolving door of musicians. Hermits drummer Barry Whitwam tours in another version of Herman's Hermits which is just called Herman's Hermits, to hopefully draw a crowd of Peter Noone's fans.
He appeared on American Idol on March 20, 2007 as a mentor for the male contestants on the show. He performed "There's a Kind of Hush" on American Idol on March 21, 2007.

I hate to admit this but I just saw him on "American Idol" last week giving pointers to the finalests.
(My neice was watching the show. NOT me. lol)
PS My sister had all the Herman Hermit's albums when they came out. I had all the Monkeys, so we shared when we were kids. :)
