Mrs wants to know as she has never been swimming on her period before and wonders what other women do. Do they wear a tampon? Not bother swimming? Or just swim and hope they dont bleed everywhere? Do swimming athletes have this problem???

Water stops your period temporarily so no it's not un hygenic. She can swim with a tampon in too.

When women want to swim on their period they just use a tampon. As long as it's changed regularly there is no bleeding so she should just put a tampon in and enjoy swimming.

Wear a tampon, I always did. Just think, would you let a untrained child go into the water without a water diaper? They do specify that they don`t want any open sores or cuts infecting the pool, ( pool rules). I imagine they don`t want menstrual blood everywhere. YUCK, especially if you have heavy flow.

i've never done it, but my aunt always goes with a tampon, it stops the flow so it's not flowing into the water where everyone else is swimming (gross!) and it's more sanitary. If she is going to do it, definitely wear the tampon!!

you can wear a tampon, but i always think public pools are so gross and full of germs, so if I have my period i never ever would step in there....actually i really hate to be in public pools period or not...

Im sorry, but i dont think it is..i know people wont agree, but think of this, a period is a sanitation process, and being in chlorine when your body is going through that could be unhealthy for those in the pool.
