Sound like the second one is worst. That is becos u know that you will definitely lose without ur star teammate scoring. The first case, the sole member of the other team will eventually get tired and he/she will be on the bench at one point or another, which means u can still stop the other team!

My thoughts are that you are talking about a game. Games are meant to be played for enjoyment and it isn't necessary to win the game to have fun playing. Playing sports teaches children the art of losing and winning gracefully. If you only play to win, you can't enjoy the fact of just playing. Remember it is a game, not life or death.

The first one is rather deflating to a team's spirit. The second one sucks to but other people will score.

#1 because if your star player wasn't scoring points he should learn how to share the ball with his other, wide open, teammates.

i would have to say not stopping your opponet from scoring, because u shouldn't really depend on ur star teammate, cuz ur star teammate can't do everything on it's own. take it from someone who was one. n let me tell u at times it was awful and times it was ok.

1, that's more on the self. It almost tells you "you CAN'T do this..."
2. leaves room for a possibility, which you may have some control over (or at least perceived)
