There was a demonstration tournament in 1904 but it wasn't counted as an Olympic sports then. Men Basketball was added as an Olympic sport on 1936 and only in 1976, Women Basketball was added as an Olympic sport.

professional players should not be allowed to play in the sport they are a pro in. allowing them to do so has ruined the Olympics.
