The first obstacle would be providing more computers to schools. Many schools have a limited number of computers and a limited amount of time for students to use them.

The second obstacle would be to educate the teachers on internet usage. Many teachers at my school have barely learned to use email or do their grades on the computer. As more teachers retire and younger teachers replace them, this is something that can and will change. Districts could help the current teachers though by providing workshops to teach them.

That brings us to the 3rd obstacle which is funding. There is little funding available to schools in many cases.

If these things can be overcome then the use of internet in education can be expanded.

Get more people to use library databases like InfoTrac and Lexis-Nexis, which give current reference and magazine articles. This would be better than having them use Google and Wikipedia.
