What exactly is a Scholarship? And how does it work? My from understanding..its something that gives you financial support for your studies, right?

Do they cover your living cost aswell, or just your school fees basically?

Do international scholarships work in the same way?

So then what happens after you´re finished studying, do you have to pay back the money you got from your scholarship after you´ve gotten a job and everything?

And i know this is kind of a stupid question but.. im asking this because..i kind of really dont know if im asking all of the right questions or if i know enough about scholarships and everything..so If i wanted to apply for an international scholarship, what kind of questions should i be asking? I mean should i get some financial advice? Are scholarships subject-specific or can i choose any subject?

www.fastweb.com is the largest database of scholarships out there. They'll help you understand how to apply for any that you qualify for. Some you have to write essays for, others is just an application you fill out. If a scholarship charges a fee to apply, it's not legit so skip over it.

Usually, they'll have a set monetary amount that will be paid to the school for your tuition that will offset any student loans you have out. The school will either send the extra money back to the lender or give it to you for living allowances. That depends on your school's policy.

Some scholarships are open ended which means they can be used at any school for any program- most can only be used towards tuition at certain schools and for certain programs. Scholarships and Grants do not have to be paid back unless you quit school without finishing your credits out.

Fastweb.com will help you understand anything else not covered here.

First of all you have the wrong category here. Secondly a scholarship is something that you do not have to pay back (that is a loan). Some do give you money for living expenses as well. Just depends on what kind you get. Your chances are much better if you make good grades.
