Does my IP change if I change my ISP, despite using the same phone line, or does it, or part of it remain the same? How can I see my own IP? Is there a way I can hide my IP or display a false one for web sites that store or see my IP? Is there any software that helps? Thank you

Find your ip click start, run, cmd hit ok. Type in ipconfig /all you will see what your ip is there. Now this won't do you any good if you are behind a router etc then the easy way to check is to go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ it will tell you there. If you are using a phone line and modem your ip is going to change every time you get connected to the internet. This is done through a process called DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Here is a question for you why do you need to hide your ip or display a false one? If you want to surf anonymously you can use a proxy server on the internet just google for anonymous surfing.

Your ip address is assigned to you by your isp. It actually changes, from time to time. if you want to hide your ip from web pages this one is good. www.torrify.com. it routes your connection through other ips which it displays.
