my parents are convinced that I'm starving myself.

this is totally NOT TRUE. I just have a fast metabolism. They think i'm bulemic because I took laxatives yesterday, but that was only because I had been constipated for 4 days and needed help. I don't use them regularly. Also, I'm a bit of a health nut and I won't eat things with more than 200 calories, and my parents think that I'm anorexic because of it. I also recently became a vegetarian. How do I convinve them that all my decisions and food-consciousness are because I want to stay healthy, and not because I have an eating disorder??

What you say is not going to convince them. What you do, will. If you are only eating 200 calories at a sitting, and you eat three meals a day, you are not getting enough food for your body to function.

Your waste elimination problem is caused by not eating right. You may not think you have an eating disorder, but you do. Get some help, this can kill you. I am not saying this to be mean, I just hate to see someone die for no good reason.

Lack of proper nutrition can cause heart problems, sterility, liver disease, etc. This is nothing to mess with.

If you really want to be food savvy, start eating a well balanced meal with the proper amount of exercise. That's how you stay healthy.

Your parents are right. You do have an eating disorder and are trying to convince yourself that you don't. All this BS about health and food consciousness and vegetarianism is just a smokescreen. Get and independent assessment if you're so sure.
I've had very close dealings with an anorexic and know all the ploys. Luckily she got over it by the time she was 30. Took a long time though.

Schedule an appt with a doctor and review your eating habits. He can help you make a sensible eating plan based on your weight and metabolism and personal convictions (i.e. vegetarianism). When you have your doctor's okay that your diet is healthy, your parents shouldn't have too much to say about it then!

Ask your parents: "what can I do to convince you?"
Then you have to be prepared to do what they want.
-Go to a doctor
-Go to a theropist
- Use a food log

You might want to go to a doctor or dietitian anyway and have them 'sign off' on your food habits.

Your parents are worried about you because they love you.

Have them go to the doctor with you and explain your diet to him and have him tell them there isn't a problem.

Show them that you're maintaining your weight.
