I take Ortho-tricyclen Lo. My schedule has been off as my shift is going from days to nights. Been having sex w/ my husband, probably 3-4x/week. Yesterday I had a little bit of pink spotting on toilet paper - none in panties and none since. Could it be implantation? LMP was 3/7-3/11 and expect it again around 4/4.

Doesn't sound like the right timing to me.

Since you are on the pill, and the timing of you taking your pills has been put out a bit with your night shift, then a bit of "breakthrough bleeding" is more likely to be the culprit than a pregnancy, especially with a triphasic pill like yours.

Mid-cycle spotting is not uncommon on the pill - about 20% of women experience it regularly, especially if they do not take their pills at the same time each day.

But with regards to implanttaion bleeding, only about 30% of women experience implantation bleeding of any sort which occurs, as you'd expect, when the embryo burrows it's way deep through the endometrium to implant onto the uterine wall. Sometimes the endometrium blood vessels are slightly damaged (and remember, the embryo is just a dot at the end of a sentence at this point, so the damage is minimal at best) and a few drops of blood come away, and make their way down towards the cervix, where they mix with cervical mucus and are discharged as per normal a few days later. It isn't actually bleeding as such.

Since it happens at implantation, which takes place about 10-12 days after conception, most women who get implantation bleeding report the discharge just before or right at the time they were expecting their period, and sometimes it is mistaken for a period starting.

If your LMP was March 7, if for some reason your pills failed this would place ovulation at around March 21, so if you conceived it would have only been within the last couple of days. It is way too soon to have implantation discharge.

No way - too soon. But seeing as you're on the pill the chances of you being pregnant are slim.

As the poster above me Sydney said - probably just a bit of mid cycle spotting. The others who said yes it could be implantation bleeding are wrong. Even if you are pregnant (slim chance) it wouldn't be implantation bleeding you've got.

sounds like it is in the right time frame to be implantation bleeding, mine happened a little less than a month after my LMP...do you spot normally? If not, chances could be even higher that you are pregnant, i would suggest that you start acting like you are pregnant (eatting right, no smoking/drinking/caffine), until you know for sure.

It could be. I didn't have any implantation bleeding, you can always do a pregnancy test just to make sure. Good luck to you.

Could be pregnancy but it also could be the birth control.
