He's hard to stop. Would it be great if he had the MVP this year? Enough for Nash. No, Dirk. Dirk is the leader of the club but he has enough, all of them i guess, players who can carry the load anytime. But Kobe is doing it all with injuries from Odom and Walton.

He's averaging 3.3 assists over the last three games.

Stop making facts up. At least come up with empirical information.

Just to make a fair comparison to the Lakers season, I'd love to see what would happen to the Mavs and Suns if Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Shawn Marion, and Amare Stoudamire were out for a significant period of time. Somehow I think they would start losing too.

All wins against some real bad teams

Portland 28 40 .412
Minnesota 29 38 .433
Memphis 17 52 .246

And not very convincing wins either, 5 pts, 7 pts, 2 pts.

MVP ... HA!!! MVP's do a lot more on the floor then shoot 40 times a game.

its impressive, but the 3 wins were against really weak teams, that aren't going to the playoffs. Also Odom and walton are back and their passing makes it easier for kobe to score points. The lakers are hardly over .500% i wouldn't give the mvp to a player on a .500 team. Dirk is gonna win Mvp the mavs are gonna win around 65 games, he deserves it this year.

You can expect this type of output from Kobe the rest of the way (40 ppg avg at least)

Phil Jackson wanted Kobe to be a team player and get his younger teammates involved and build their confidence. Phil recognized that Kobe is his only reliable scorer right now and gave him the go-ahead to make decisions on when to shoot. His performance last night (20-37 shooting) is exactly what Phil said was going to happen----He lifted the reigns on Kobe and Kobe will lead the league in scoring the rest of the way and will take the game into his own hands.
The first half of the year Kobe didn't do that until late in the second half of games but is doing it now the entire game. Until Odom and Walton can contribute then this is how it is going to be.

hes averaging 58.5 the last three games...but he won't win...the NBA has to give it to Dirk or Nash because of how well the team is doing. Its a shame how its not about the value of a player anymore but popularity...the lakers can't do @#$! w/o kobe...that's a true MVP!

Isn't he also averaging 1.1 assists over the same 3 games? I think an MVP should do more than outscore the other 11 players on his team.

Against who...???
Where all the teams playoff teams...NO!!!!
Memphis should be ashamed though because they knew he was hot and didn't make a attempt to shut him down and make someone else on the Lakers beat them (like Smush).
