I'm in a head to head fantasy baseball league with 12 people in the league. I will get the 10th and the 15th pick. Here is my scoring system, I know I have to take a big bat in the first round but, my question is do I take a starting pitcher on my 15th pick or do I wait till round 3, which it would be my 34th pick? singles 1pt doubles 2pt triples 3points walks 1point
homeruns 4pts; ko's (batter) -1pt ; runs 1pt; RBI's 1pt; SB 2pts

Now for the pitching: CG 5pts ER -1pt INN 0.5pt
K's 1pt L-losses -5pt NH(no hitter) 20pts QS(quality start) 3pts s(saves) 6pts SO(shutout) 10pts W(wints) 10pts.

For your 1st and 2nd pick here are a few names id go with in this order: C. Utley, Vlad, L.Berkman, or Ichiro. Chances are Utley wont be there if you are drafting w/ anyone that knows how scarce 2b is this year and your of course not going to get power stats from ichiro, but you will get multiple bases and sb, plus consistency and a contract year also. CG, NH, SO, are stat catagories that you really cant look at any particular pitcher and say well, he wil have a NH or 3 SO this year. Unless i can get Johan, i ususally wait till about round 5 to start drafting my pitchers. Too many bats worht having are usually available till then.

I'd seriously look at Dice K. The guy is a workhorse, and threw 13 CG's last year.

It's a bit risky, sure, but the guy will probably be there by your 3rd or 4th pick.

As for #2, I would take the best SP out there, possibly Halladay or Carpenter.

#1 Take the best overall player that you see. Here's my ranking....

Pujols
Soriano
Reyes
Santana
Beltran
A-Rod
Utley
Guerrero
Howard
Ortiz
Berkman
Wright
Texeira
Sizemore

Since you can earn more points in pitching. Grab as many Ace pitchers and relievers you can. I would get an Ace pitcher in the first round and a great hitter in the second round.
