Can having sex at 38 weeks make me go into labor? Is it bad that I want to have the baby right now? My belly is so painful, because I think it may be stretched past its capacity. Is it dangerous for me to try to induce by brisk walking and light sexual sessions? I am due on April 15, so I am just wondering.

Having sex at this point in your pregnancy is fine as long as you are comfortable. There are also other ways to induce labor. Try long walks. Another thing to try (this may sound weird) is nipple stimulation. It is believed that this releases the hormones that are responsible for starting labor. Try to take your mind off of it all. Spend time preparing for the baby and do as much resting as you can.

no it is not bad for you to have sex unless your doc tells you not to have intercourse. You should be walking because it will make labor easier for you. Trust me I feel the same way. I had my first ultrasound and it said April 26 and then my second one said April 15th. Try not to overdo yourself with alot of activity but you can have sex they say it does help you go into labor. I still have sex and of course it is not light sessions. Hang in there you don't have that much longer.

i am due april 7th and i am 38 weeks... so i think your calculations might be off a little... sex does make me have contractions but they go away... they are not strong enough to make me go into labor, my doctor said that anytime after 38 wks is fine, although i wouldnt try to go into labor myself unless it was advised by my doctor... and walking, sex... all of that stuff generally wont make you go into labor unless the baby is ready... i know you hear about people saying it helped them go into labor but thats just because they were ready.

You MIGHT be able to get thing moving earlier than your due date, but bubs will arrive when good and ready. I tried everything I could thing of to get my boy moving and he was still 6 days late. Talk to your OB/GYN about any issues toward bubs safety and if she can suggest anything to get things going. 37-38 weeks is generally considered full-term, but it is best for bubs to stay in the full 40 weeks.
Remember, you will not be pregnant forever. It may feel like you will be, but your bub will be in your arms soon. (I was feeling like this at this time last year, bub was due on the 20th and was born on the 26th) ;)
Congratulations on your pending arrival and good luck!

Baby cause you to go into labor when the time and conditions are right, unless there are complications.
But if you're not comfortable with idea of having sex at this stage with your pregnancy, then don't - coz if you stress your baby stress!

IF sex cause you to go into labor then that mean your cervix was ripe and ready for it and the baby was ready to come out. at this point your baby is considered full term so you have no worries. have sex up until you go into labor:)

after 37 weeks your considered full term so the baby should be fine. and it's totally normal to be exhausted with being pregnant, i feel that way at 28 weeks.....lol!!! your full term hunnie so go ahead and try to get that baby out of there. i walked with my 1st baby and it did not work but who knows the sex thing may work , i plan on trying it too at 37 weeks!! good luck!!!

they say to have sex and it will put you into labor but nothing works trust me the baby will come when he or she is ready. the more you wait around to go into labor the longer it will take. if you keep waiting you will probably go late. so keep your mind busy and your body active and let nature take its place. good luck and congradulations.

It may be dangerous to induce it but usually not.Talk to your doctor about it if you have any doubts about it. He can induce it properly. I dated a girl who was about to deliver. She hurt too much for sex, but I masturbated her into an orgasm and
she started having contractions. Almost never made it to the hospital in time though...
