Previous answerers are right, you need a wireless network card for your laptop, so that the laptop can receive the signal being sent from your wireless router. These cards aren't too expensive. The type you need is called a 'pcmcia' card, which fits into the large slot on the left side of your laptop. You will want to buy one that is either 'wireless b' or 'wireless b/g'. The first will be cheaper, but the second is a more up-to-date standard, but I doubt you will notice a difference. Here are some examples:

Once you get the card, just plug it into your laptop and windows should detect the card and install it. Once it is up and running, it should automatically detect the presence of your wireless network and ask if you want to connect.

Hope that helps, and if you get stuck, just post again.

when you say a wireless modem i am sure you mean router. you need a wireless card for your laptop (wireless pcmcia card) you can find a few on ebay. You need to configure your router, there are several security, from WEP to WPA-PSK, which is a standard for home user. There are 2 connection types, 802.11g and 802.11b/a. find out which your router is and buy an appropriate wireless card to go. new routers suggest b/g

Easy, but complicated.

You need a WIFI router (PC World) like netgear and your Notebook must be WIFI enable (If not, you need by a USB WIFI Key or something like PCMCIA WIFI card).

If everything is standard, you will get easy WIFI access connecting to your modem, but if not, you will need technical support.

BT gives internet already with WIFI router/modem pre configurated (then you need only to have WIFI connection on your NB side). Easiest way.

You need to get a wireless card installed in your laptop, or a USB wireless dongle. Doesn't sound like your lap top is wireless enabled.

Well, wireless technologies usually work through bluetooth. they are very cool. you can pair them together and do it without wires and all. i think you need to pair your modem for it to work properly.
