Controlling occultists is like herding cats. Can't be done. Nearly all occult literature is imagination and fakery, there is little if any consistency among it. And yes, I have read some of it. Even the more modern stuff is really loony toons land.
The only truly successful occult groups are the major religions and Scientology. Then we have the rest, vegans, crystal power freaks, pyramid whackos, Tarot card readers, UFO believers and "abductees" etc etc.
The so-called Illuminati as an organisation were thoroughly defunct before the end of the Napoleonic Wars and even then had been a small rump of the original group for years.
The modern myth of the Illuminati was started by a science fiction/fantasy writer Robert Anton Wilson about 30 years ago in books supposed to be read as novels in spite of a good deal of factual content. There is no factual basis for the myth.
While there is a possible link between the Knights Templar and the Freemasons, possibly via the aristocratic Sinclair family of Scotland, the link is extremely tenuous and it is quite clear that the Freemasons began to emerge some hundreds of years after the last Templar was safely dead of old age.

there really are no organizations that control the occult. the occult is a dark power that cannot be controlled by anyone or anything. some say satan some say loki, some say demon, some simply say black magik. whatever you say it cannot be controlled only manipulated from time to time. and to the first respondent do your homework the templar nights became the Freemasons. the Illuminati has power that far exceeds that of the Templar nights or the Freemasons could ever dream of. i personally do not believe in the Illuminati, i think there are many many secret societys all of which have varying levels of power and all of which are vying for the power the others have , however i am off the subject. the true occult is impossible to contain.
