Was Vassili, Davis, and Taylor real heroes from WWII?

The most famous Vassili of World War II was Vasily Zaitsev. He was Russia's most important sniper, a major hero at the Battle of Stalingrad. "Enemy At The Gates" is about him.

Two men named Davis won Medals of Honor during World War II. Major Charles Davis at the Battle of Guadalcanal, and Commander George Davis, who commanded the USS Walke during the Battle of Phillipines.

There is no record of someone named Taylor winning a Medal of Honor.

As far as the game goes, my guess is that the characters were composites of real people.

No they are names created my activision. Yes there was, somewhere a Vassili, Davis and a Taylor fighting in world war 2 and they might be heroes but you most likely aren't playing there story of the war.
