Is this possible? I have some black fish in my gold fish pond that are with a Black Moor, and don't seem to be turning orange like goldfish usually do.

Yes - they can mate. Goldfish and black moors are the same species. Some offspring will be gold (orange) and some will be black. Some might be a mixture of both parents.

A black moor is nothing more than a black, bubble-eyed goldfish.

A Black Moor IS a goldfish - he's just a fancy one. It's totally possible for them to mate b/c they are the same species.
Black Moors usually will not turn orange b/c they are black.

Nothing unusual. A black moor, aka black telescope goldfish is just another variety of the same species. A black person who marries a white person will have children that will have coloring and looks of combination of both parents, even though on the outside the parents look very different from one another.
Goldfish are naturally gray when young and develop colors as they get older.

Yes, it is quite possible - Black Moors are simply a type of Goldfish. Black Moors are the same species as all other Goldfish kept in aquariums.

They're all goldfish. Just because they look different doesn't mean they cant breed. Look at a Poodle and a Labrador, they look way diferent and they can breed. Its the same concept.

It all has to do with genetics, which is a large and complicated subject...

But hey, I've been keeping/breeding fish for about 17yrs and I still think that goldfish just 'spontaniousy' appear lol Its one of those things. Dont ask........

Yep, happens quite often when the two varieties are kept together. Most of the offspring will be mixed looking but as they mature should look more like the gold parent than the Black Moor.
