well i suggest you not use this connection, since you dont know whose it is, you could get youself in some trouble or compromise your security and guessing there is no network passphrase.

I don't think you should be looking for the proxy address of the network. If the network was using a proxy server(and assuming you don't know what it is), you won't even be able to connect to the internet. You would get the signal, but you won't be able to use it.

Use someone else's wi-fi is not only illegal, but stupid. If the person you are connecting to should decide to use their computer to committ a crime (download child porn, send harrassing e-mails, hack into people and still information, etc.) and the polica come for them, they can claim that it was YOU that did - hacking through their system. (After all, you are already an obvious criminal for hacking in their network and stealing their bandwidth). You could find yourself face civil and criminal charges, fines, and jail time for simply being on their wi-fi.

Plus if I were to caught you on might, you would be infect with so many viruses, spywares, and have all the files deleted off your computer....

Get off that person's network before you find yourself in real trouble....

I am also using wireless from another source but are you sure that it's the proxy details you need? Is the signal strong enough to load Yahoo!?
