Well, it depends on how much all of this is going to cost. Most likely, you'll spend a minimum of $2,000 on the engine, and about the same on the transmission, plus labor to install.
The car is nearly 10 years old, is it worth it to you to spend about $5,000.00 to fix a car that's only worth around $5300.00 at a dealer?

1998 Chrysler Sebring $5,525 - $7,575 Take it from there. Most Engine jobs incl.labor is $1,500.00 to $2,000.00, Rebuilt trans replacement $1,100.00 to $1,500.00
