I'm 40 years old and would like to wait at least one more month. I've had 3 friends who have had miscarriages.

I think this is an entirely legitimate question- I had the same problem! All of a sudden you go from going out with the girls of a weekend, where you might usually have some drinks, to being pregnant and not able to! And you don't want to tell everyone you're pregnant yet, because it's early days- yet if all of a sudden you don't go out anymore, or become a tee-totaller when you do, it would arouse suspicion! Creativity is definitely the key here! When you go to the bar, order something close to your usual- just a non-alcoholic version. If that isn't possible, comment that you're branching out and found your new fave drink- a Daquiri, or something with Cola etc Just order it without alcohol- no-one else will know! If all else fails, ease up on going out for a bit- my morning sickness(well, my "anytime-of-the-day-or-night" sickness) from 8 weeks pregnant prevented me from even thinking about wanting to go out- I said I had the flu- nobody questioned it! A few weeks later I told everyone I was pregnant and they were like- oh, so that was your "flu", huh? Nobody cared that I hadn't been upfront from the start- after all, many women want to wait until they are 12 weeks to tell everyone! And that doesn't mean you can't still have a social life! Anyway, good luck with your pregnancy- hope it's all smooth sailing....

Tell them you've been having bad heartburn lately and your doctor told you the alcohol is what's causing it. Alcohol can actually be the culprit for some heartburn sufferers, so there would be no questioning the validity of the story.

Now that you've explained why you want to withhold your news about being pregnant, I must say that it's incredibly thoughtful of you to respect their feelings due to their losses. A lot of people would not bother and just assume that the friends would be happy for you, but in the end, they are humans and while they would surely be happy for you, it would likely cause them more pain. I applaud you for being such a sincere and thoughtful friend.

Congrats and I wish you and those in your life the very best!

If she will't positioned down the alcohol on a similar time as pregnant, she in all possibility has a challenge. it truly is one element to have a drink each as quickly as and a on a similar time as, yet while she is going out that a lot and eating every time, it truly is in simple terms too a lot. do you comprehend if she beverages greater advantageous than in simple terms that one? If not, she truthfully has a challenge. And that little one ought to finally end up with FAS. there is not something you may truly do approximately it although. i'm useful she is familiar with the negative aspects and hence i think she maximum in all possibility has a eating challenge.

When you first get to the restaurant, or bar and find out who will be serving you, get up and "go to the bathroom" tell the waiter your little secret and you cant tell your friends yet but regardless what you order, not to bring you alcohol. Make sure they understand and it should work. My favorite drink was Cranberry and Malibu so, I would just order a cranberry drink and no one ever knew the difference. Cause I didnt want to tell my friends for a while either. I totally understand what you are going through. Order a crown and sprite, and just have a sprite brought out. etc. Good Luck!

Tell them you've just learned you have acid reflux (you researched it online and self-diagnosed) and you don't want to drink until you talk to the dr. about it. Throw in some "oh, the awful burning" drama just for fun :) Bonus: this will explain the heartburn and morning sickness you may get anyway...it will also be a reason not to smoke if you normally do so when you drink. Having a secret is so much fun...enjoy!

Ok I really hope you wouldn't drink while pregnant. And I think you are asking how to not do it with them.

Well you can be the Designated Driver.

You can just tell them you don't feel well and you don't wanna drink tonight.

You can just not go with them.

not sure I have any more ideas right now.

I drank water out of a beer can yesterday. No one suspected a thing. :)

It's hard to hide it to my friends especially now during March Madness. We like to get together to watch the Jayhawks win and drink beer while we do it!

You can be a great friend in more ways than one - offer to always be the designated driver until you are ready to tell them. That way, everyone wins!

i would go to the bar alone and order a:
-shirley temple,
-ginger ale, orange juice and genadeen combo
-tomato juice
-iced tea
-pineapple juice
these look like a regular alcoholic drink especially if you get a piece of fruit to garnish
...and by the way congrats!

Offer to drive?! Then you'll be popular too as well as having the perfect reason for not drinking!
