No. for two reasons. 1. it has been going on a long time and the abolition of monarchy would destroy much of British heritage and tradition. 2. the tabloids and gossip magazines would have nothing to talk about! heh heh heh

No, why should they. The Brits should be proud of the royals. The customs, pom and circumstance and traditions associated with the monarchy are steeped in history. I , as an American envy this. Also, the monarch brings in millions of tourist dollars each year from sightseers seeing castles, museums to which the royals donate art and artifacts, and seeing the changing of the guard. So, long live the Queen and all the generations that follow her.

No, it is a source of British patriotism/loyalty. Even though the monarchy is only a titular head of the country, so many Brits are proud to serve the monarch.
Plus, like everyone else said it is a source of major tourism.

No this is The Sceptered Isle its the heart of the nation . Britain and Republicanism don't mix the brief time under Cromwell was a dark period . The idea of a president leaves me cold just another layer of political opportunists. God Save The Queen!

No, the Monarchy is the reason why so many tourists visit London and other parts of England each year. Without those tourists, they would not be as wealthy.

No, they're an excellent investment for the Brits. Most tourists wouldn't go there if it weren't for the royals, it's a pretty boring place otherwise. Keeps the locals amused also.

From what I learned is that the queen really doesn't hold any power, she is more of a figure head. Parliment has most of the power. I guess what it comes down to is heritage, plus tourism.
