I am one who believes Sylvia Browne is authentic. There are a lot of people who will nit pick and critisize what they don't understand. However, Sylvia Browne was the first author I read and from there it spring boarded to Conversations with God, A Course In Miracles, and many other books which also lead me to the Secret and What the Bleep do We Know?! and to an experience of my own Soul's journey. So for that I am greatful to Sylvia and her message.
Now in my experience, I've never known anyone who sort of liked Sylvia. There are those who do; and those who do really do love Sylvia and follow what she says. Also there are those who do not like Sylvia at all. And those are the ones who will pick her apart, always looking for when she is incorrect about something. These people don't concern me.
I am more concerned with the people who love and adore Sylvia, those who put Sylvia on a pedistal and worship her. I believe Sylvia is demonstrating what we all can do. She is illustrating that life is eternal and we are part of God, who is all powerful and all loving. I have studied Sylvia's writings, those published and the ones she produces from her Church... I even saw her in a lecture once. But I think, for me, it is more about seeing her message and working with my own gifts to keep in communion with God, my loved ones, and my Spirit Guide... and so forth. And so I reaffirm: Even as much as I love Sylvia and many of these spiritual messengers, I must remind myself she is one of many who are pointing us in a certain direction, towards God within us, and if I focus all my attention on Sylvia Browne, John Edward, or whoever it is, then I will miss the whole message... I will miss God.

The key factor in Sylvia Brown's success is that she has aligned herself with some really talented marketing people, not because of her so-called abilities.

Sylvia Brown is quite clearly out to make as much money as possible, and is not about actually helping people.

Why do I think this? Just check out her website. There is not one free sentence about anything that would be inspiring or motivational. Its all about purchasing her various products.

Secondly, she charges about $700 for a half hour phone session. That is outrageous money to charge and she should be ashamed of herself for robbing middle and lower class people out of their hard earned money.

Also, if you check out her actual predictions, you will find that she is wrong more then she is right. In order to prove she has any real abilities beyond chance, she would have to score higher then 50%, which she does not. She doesn't even come close.

Further, when she is proved wrong, she does not apologize or give people their money back. Again this just furthers my point that she is out for the money.

Imagine the pain that she inflicted on that one poor family alone - letting them think their son had been butchered and killed for 4 years, when all along he was alive??That suffering alone, is worth much more then the $700 they paid her.

Imagine how many other people are suffering from the crap she has told them???

There are a lot of very talented psychics out there, but she isn't one of them.

I do believe that all of us are born with an ability to see beyond and to sense spiritual things. We lose it because we are inundated with information as we grow older and are taught not to believe in the world beyond.

I also think that some people have an inept ability to carry that ability beyond childhood and to master it.

However, no one can 'hit the nail on the head' all the time. Part of knowing answers comes from knowing what questions to ask at the right time.

I do believe that Sylvia has a great ability.
Thru her work she is able to give hope and reassurance to people who have lost loved ones and that is a great thing! Whether it's real or not.

If you've never seen Resurrection w/ Ellen Burnstyne(sp?) then you should. It is an older movie but its point is clear. It is truly a wonderful movie. You'll love it.

When my father died, he was looking up. He defintely saw something. I could see it on his face and in his eyes. (I was not with him as the hospital sent me home for the night and said they would call if there was any change. There was a change but no one called me and he died early the next morning before I could get back to the hospital.)

I am also a survivor. My whole family has been wiped out except for me and my son. I have felt the presense of my father, mother, sister and brother on many occasions. You can't lose that many people in your life and NOT be spiritual by nature.

My mom died a few years ago too. I had an old friend come into town to be with me. We were sitting and talking on my bed when a picture on the wall lifted up and flung to the ground. It broke the picture frame. My sister drew the painting. It was a picture of me she had drawn years before she died. She was letting us know she was around~

I have many stories like this one. They all make me a believer!~

Sylvia falls into that category too. I absolutely love her.

Carolyn

Yes, and I REALLY hope I am correct, the reason I believe her is a simple deduction, she has, for the past few years been making a prediction and if it does not happen, she will be seen as a fake, her whole reputation and future are at stake, and she put them there, and if she is correct, there will be no one who can call her a fake, the prediction is, Aliens from space will arrive on earth in the year 2010, I hope she is right, and I also hope they aren`t coming here to eat us, lol

HAHA No, I don't think she really has the abilities she claims that she does. You know that little boy who was found with another kidnapped child a couple of months ago? Well the one that had been gone for 8 years or whatever it was, his parents paid Sylvia Brown a visit. She told them he was GONE and apparently, offered to lead them to the body if they paid her $X (I can't remember the figure)...

No I don't. She comes straight from the "Miss Cleo school for Psychics". I saw her on Montel one time being asked about Shawn Hornbeck and she told the parents he was dead! Which as we all know by now is wrong as they found him earlier this year being kept by the weird guy who had just kidnapped another twelve year old. She needs to find another line of work because being a psychic just doesn't seem to be working.
