I havent felt movement, just flutters adn my stomach doesnt seem to have gotten any bigger. AM i bei ng silly ? My doc said he would do a heart beat listen when I reached 20 weeks. Missed miscarriages tend to happen early in pregnancy and be detected at a first scan.
It is common to not 'feel' pregnant for the first part of the second trimester.
It is a bit early for you to be feeling movements, but that should start within the next few weeks. And flutters ARE movememts - they are early movements. At first the movements are very slight and you might think you are imagining them.
At 17 weeks I had a totally flat stomach. I went for a maternity bra fitting and was standing there in bra and jeans and the woman asked me if I meant to be trying on a maternity bra! A few weeks later my stomach started to pop out.
Enjoy it while it lasts. In a few months you will be so big you won't be able to move and you will be kept awake by your baby kicking all night!!

I'm suprised your doc hasn't listened to the heart beat yet. Most do that around 12 or so weeks. I would call the office voice your concerns and ask if you can come in for a quick listen of the baby's heart beat. It takes no time at all. As for the movement some people don't start feeling movement until 20 weeks or later. Good Luck!

You should change OB's immediately!! I have never heard of an OB waiting until 20 weeks to listen to the heartbeat, 12-14 weeks yes, 20 absolutely not! At 17 weeks flutters are completely normal, you won't feel regular pronounced movement until probably 19 or 20 weeks. Also if this is your first pregnancy (other than the M/C) it is completely normal not to show until 20 weeks or later, with each subsequent pregnancy you tend to start showing earlier, but that isn't always the case either.

What dr waits til 20 wks to listen for a heartbeat.. I got to hear mine at 12wks!! I'd be asking some other dr or something cuz that doesnt seem right! On top of that you might be just worrying. hehe becuase of the miscarriage This is my 4th pregnany and i did feel 'pronounced' movemnt til around 18-19wks.. now i can just lay down and the whole family can watch the belly move hehe. I'm not sure where you are from.. but i'd seriously looking into the whole hearthbeat thing.. I had my Mid-way Ultrasound even before then!!! it just isnt right! GL!

i had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. it means that the baby has died but your body has not recognised it so you do not bleed or cramp. i would go back immediately you cant sit at home wondering whether or not you have miscarried.

the first movements i felt wth this pregnancy at 17 weeks were just flutters too then 2 weeks later it became more definite.

your doctor should be able to see and hear the heart beat by now, i seen my babys heart beat at 5 weeks and heard it at 17.

go back asap. good luck xxx

Call your maternity unit, tell them about your fears because of the previous misscarriage, explain that you just want to know everything is ok, I am sure they will allow you to pop in if you really explain just how anxious you are, given the circumstances.
Have you had a scan yet? Im in the UK and had already had a scan by this stage, ask if you can book one.
Hope all is well, bet of luck with your baby.
Also this is my second pregnancy and I didn't start showing until I got to 26 and a half weeks!

Hello. Sometimes women say that when they feel the flutter, it's the baby that they are feeling. so, it's quite possible that you're feeling the baby. and in my own experience i didn't get bigger until i was almost 20 weeks.

if you're really worried, you could go back. and have them do a test. or heart beat listen. ..and by 20 weeks, you'll be able to see what your child is.

I wish you the best of luck.

second trimester is always the calmest and its normal to not feel pregnant, i had a miscarriage Jan. 30 2005 and was immediatly pregnant again Feb. 11 2005 i now have a healthy 18 month old (he was a preemie, but healthy) having one miscarriage does not increase your chances of another, tell your doctor that you just feel like something isnt right and they may get you in sooner, but i think you are just fine, the fluttering is a good sign.
good luck

Its natural for you to feel like this after a misscariage.

In your first pregnancy you dont usually feel the baby until around 16 weeks and it is only butterflies, the baby is only very small so you wont feel it kicking yet (well I didnt).

Everyone is different and start to show at different times.

Has he not listened to the heartbeat yet?? If it were me, I would ask them if they could just listen for a second, just to ease some concerns.
