Talk to your doctor. If you want to work until the end have your doctor write a note with limitations. Meaning no heavy lifting and no being on your feet all day (factory.) By law your workplace has to obey by the doctor's note. So, you will be doing your office job. Good luck!

I had a day off (not pregnancy related) 3 weeks before my maternity leave and my boss called me and said that it meant that I had to start my maternity leave straight away. I looked into it and found out you don't have to take it unless you are off sick 3 weeks before the due date so I called him back and told him. I think there is a lot of discrimination still towards pregnant women. He stopped me doing half my job description (I only worked in an office) and when I went on leave trained my collegue to do my job and then offered me a night job as they said I was no longer required! Needless to say I left.

Right then, i would say firstly that nobody from work should ring you at home to advise you on your pregnancy and what is right for you. I took my maternity leave at 8 months with my first baby and she was 2 weeks late, this meant having to leave her when she was 5 months old to go back to work. This isn't awful but I did want to be with her a bit longer. Bosses can be badly behaved towards pregnant staff - i've had some experience. If they are making your working day miserable then keep a diary of events, as this could be classed as constructive dismissal (making your working life so hard that you have to resign, by putting you in cold/uncomfortable environments). I would not accept my boss "inviting" me to take maternity leave early, if you want to stay on as long as possible then that is your right. You are also entitled to sick pay/time off for illness just like any other employee. I would take notes, try not to worry and if there are any further situations which occur then speak with the citizens advise bureau. Hope this helps, best of luck. xx

I know that around about 4 weeks before your due date they can ask you to start your maternity leave early, but if it is not pregnancy related they cannot do this.
I would go to your GP and get a sicknote making sure they dont put anything to do with pregnancy on it. Get it for a six weeks or so then start your maternity leave. Dont go back its not worth risking your baby. If you look on the acast website it will explain about health and safety when your pregnant.

Refuse to go on maternity leave. if you have a sick day within 4 weeks of your due date your employer can force you to go on maternity leave but not 7 weeks before.
I would demand a risk assessment for your work in the factory. You are allowed to ask for one by law. In fact, by law your employer should do a risk assessment on you at month 3, 6 and when you return. i bet if you do have an assessment they will tell you that the factory work is unsuitable for you and will tell you to stick to office work. Your employer has to comply with this.
Good luck and dont let them intimidate you. They are probably jealous of you anyway.

Your director is frustrated becuase of your pregnancy. i had a bit of change in attitude at work place aswell.
May be its because they realise that you will be gone soon and your position cannot be filled either so they have to look for temps and while you are there you would not be able to do certain tasks and all that.
What ever the case be take your leave when you are ready and not when they tell you to. And if you are not happy to do certain kind of tasks due to pregnancy then you should communicate as they cant legally impose anything on you,
Be strong and take good care of yourself

I would take legal advice. You sound as though you have a good case for discrimination in the work place. Your director can not make you take early leave as your illness is not related to the pregnancy, and you only had one day!!

in case you think of you're sick and your checklist is on trip do to a walkin or scientific institution hospital there is drugs u can take while you're pregnant and that is not any longer good to be throwing up for 5 days directly the two some ppl only dont comprehend what they're speaking on the subject of the fewer u puke the greater food the toddler is getting while you're that worried pass to a scientific institution or walkin hospital it would value some money yet what's greater inportant the well-being of your baby or only a sprint money to make beneficial each little thing is okay

I'm sure if it's not materity related you can still go back to work. But it does say on the maternity rules that if you are off sick at all 11 weeks before your maternity leave date/due date it is automatic you start your leave. Read up on it or go to your HR. Get your doc to back it up too.
Good luck
