I neither agree nor disagree. You have a nice bike, and I'm glad you're happy with it. That's what it's all about.
While I may ride a Harley, my sister rides a Honda, and her husband a Yamaha. And we're all happy.

I think it is what your used to and what you've experienced. A friend of mine has a Roadstar, and loves it. It's an 06 model. A special version, that only comes in black. Know the one I'm talking about? Anyway, he loves it, although, while riding down the road one day, one of the hard saddle bags fell off and was all scratched up. Probably dealer prep error. Then again, he rode it for a couple of months, and one day we were going for a ride, and it wouldn't start. Found out the problem was a relay switch under the seat. Went round and round with the dealership to first find the problem, then to order the right replacement part. he still swears by it. I on the other hand have owned A Honda 305 super hawk, Honda 350, Suzuki 550, Kawasaki 900, Honda shadow, Harley sportster 883 and currently own an 07 Harley street Glide. It has the newer 96 Cube inch engine. never been on a bike that rode nicer. I'd tell everyone to get one, but then again, it's all in your own preception. However, I do have one comment, that I'm sure you've heard before. If every other manufacturer is so much better than a Harley, why do these same manufacturers make their bikes look and sound like a Harley? You'd think, that if they were so great on their own, they would create their own styling.

I used to ride a harley. I liked it, but I spent more time wrenching and ordering parts than I did riding it. I owned several japanese cruisers, but I felt that they sacrificed function for style and tended to lack a personality of their own other than being a harley imitator. If you like cruisers, then the roadstar is probably one of the best. I sold my harley and bought a new Yamaha R1. I will probably never go back to cruisers. I love the way it looks and sounds. The seat is a little hard, but the riding position is pretty comfortable once you get used to it. And when I want it to be, it is fast enough to stay out of almost anyone's way.

Road Stars are nice bikes. Harley's are nice bikes. So what's your question? Do I agree with what? By the way....I ride Suzuki.

Hey, you people need to stop apologizing for not riding a Harley. Everyone and their sister rides a Harley. Do you want to be like everyone and their sister?
It sounds like you love your bike. Sit tall and ride on brother.

I do agree. I ride a '97 Suzuki Intruder 1400. My friend who had a very similarly set up Harley and I switched bikes. I couldn't wait to get back on mine. It was much smoother, had much better acceration, shifting and braking. That Harley shook so much that I wasn't comfortable on it.
For the most part you can get a lot more bike for your money with one of the new Japanese cruisers.
I ride at highway speeds with earplugs anyway. Who needs a loud bike?

The Yamaha is a great bike, certainly better than a Harley, but I personally like the Honda cruisers a bit better. VTX1300 is my fav.
