i went to the social security office and had it changed on my card then when to the dmv and had it changed on my lisence didn't take to long just a copy of the marriage lisence.

If there were an easy way 2 do it I would've done it, believe me! u go to the social security office with the original document of ur marriage license. u get ur new last name in the mail in about 4 wks. Congratulations by the way!

All I did was take my marriage certificate and my birth certificate to the Social Security office to get a new SS card with my new name. As soon as I got that I went to the license bureau and changed my name on my license and then my bank accounts. It really wasn't too big a deal to me.

You will need several certified copies of your marriage license which can be obtained at your local courthouse for a small fee. After that, go to the Social Security Office and DMV and tell them what you need. They can help you from there.

the easiest thing I did was look online at socialsecurity.gov and either print out the form for a new name change application for the social security card. This is the legal way to change it and they will issue you a new card with the new loast name on it.

You need this for your tax records also. Do as others said. Social Security office or online possibly. They make it easy to do!
