I like this year's budget for two reasons -
Firstly, it is good that the government has woken up to address health and education by significantly hiking the budget allocations for these sectors. Though this is not anywhere close to the promised 9% of the GDP, it is a start in the right direction.
Secondly, it is seeks to do away with the many tax holidays that many of the sectors are currently enjoying.
Nevertheless, the budget has not given any significant push to agriculture considering that two-thirds of the population earn their living from agriculture.

When common man is not directly taxed and essential commodities are not taxed as heavily as was and railway or any travel facility is not much taxed and many indirect facilities are given and not visualised by common man, the common people feel it a good budget. That is all. Even the business community is not directly open to taxaction eventhogh the reality is known to Accountants and Income tax people and not to any ordinary man. That is the reason budge 2007 is considered good.
