Open the file . click properties. select hidden. file
In Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/ do not show hidden files.
The file wont be seen. in the folder say C:/My Documents.
Hope the other person/s is/are not too smart to remove this option and see your files !

Hi there,

1) If you're using MS-Office, then you can use the password options for Word & Excel.

2) But if you have various types of files that may or may not have inherent security options like MS-Word, then you can try compressing these files thru WinZip or WinRar - make sure you encrypt the compressed files with a password.

3) If you desire that others don't see what's listed in your compressed file, you can further encrypt it thru open-source "Yadabyte Disk" (or skip compressing it and encrypt it immediately)

4) If you desire a higher level of stealth, then TRUECRYPT is an open source alternative. Make sure you read the manual though since you'll need to follow instructions on this one

yes in word you can!
while in your documents go to tools options and then the tab save and there is an option there to create a password! there is a passwrod word to open it and one to modify! just input password you want click ok and then save and close the document as normal. when you try to open it again it will ask for he password

i use MySecretFolder application for this. Just google it. You can protect your personal folders by password (s)

in excel they have a restiction / permission feature, its located next to the save button
