Gatorade is the bomb and it has a bunch of different flavors. You can water it down if you think it is too strong of a taste. Any liquid is good as long as it doesn't have caffeine, which will further dehydrate him.

Water and pedialyte or gatorade is the best thing right now. Giving fruit juices will just prolong the diarrhea, and soda pop will make him even more dehydrated. The best thing is to start bulking up the stool with bananas, rice, apples, and toast. Once the diarrhea stops return him to his normal diet. Good Luck!

Pedialyte is the best for baby or kids with diarrhea. It is not recommended to give juice or water because they are not as good for dehydration. If that has not work then do take him back to the doctor. 6 days is allot to be having this.

once you're giving him fluids you will desire to in all risk attempt to cut back the quantities and style. Water is in all risk the final & if he will take an oral re-hydration drink like Gastrolyte (Aus) which will help too. those are salty nevertheless by ability of their nature so don't be taken aback if he refuses. the main to fulfillment could be in basic terms to furnish small yet favourite sips, you will would desire to maintain on with your boy around and encourage him. while our son had an identical ailment we even had to furnish him a teaspoon of water at a time for some hours until eventually he became protecting it down/in. childrens can dehydrate very straight away, so be careful and good success. issues to look out for - Thirst; non-favourite urinating; tiredness; dry pores and skin; darkish urine, easy headedness; dry mouth; no tears while crying; sunken eyes, abdomen, cheeks; intense fever; listlessness or irritability; pores and skin that would not rebound flat while pinched and permit pass. additionally, diarrhea in childrens is often led to by ability of a 'rotovirus' and is quite infectious, so which you would be doing a marvelous type of washing.

Pedialyte is really the best thing to prevent dehydration. There are many flavors of the drink available...they even have Pedialyte Jello's and frozen pops. He may like these better. Give him bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast as well. The BRAT diet works great.

DO NOT give milk or juice - milk isn't easily digested, and most juices can make diarrhea worse.
Other than that, he can have pretty much any clear fluids to drink. Flat ginger ale, Sprite/7Up, or coca-cola. Solid Jello. Ice pops. Whatever interests him.
You also want to give him plenty of starchy foods to bind him up. The basics are called the BRAT diet - Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. Beyond that - crackers, pretzels, noodles, mashed potatoes - anything carb-loaded. As long as he's still urinating, he's fine. If it goes much longer, or he's having more than 8 stools a day, you need to take him to the doctor.

Try gatorade. The important thing is to keep him from dehydrating. Pedialyte and gatorade have all sorts of minerals to rehydrate the body. Athletes drink gatorade while excercising so that they don't dehydrate. Also, it's available in many flavors, so you should be able to find one your child likes.

cooled down boiled water is the best thing really.
have you tried diaralyte - you can get it from supermarkets / chemists - it replaces the salts lost when ill and helps prevent dehydration.
if your child had had it for 6 days - seek advise from your gp as they made need medical intervention
make sure they are not eating anything but bland foods - and NO dairy products including milk unless okay'd by gp!!!!
