It is normal. Your cervix is enlarged and the capillaries in it have dilated. When it was scraped during the pap smear the tissue was damaged a teeny bit- nothing to worry about. It is very sensitive and has many nerves going to it, which would cause the cramping. It could last all day, and should feel progressively better.

Hi sweetie. It is true that your cervix is very sensitive when you are pregnant and probably more prone to a bit of bleeding than if you were not pregnant. This is the same reason that you may have a bit of spotting after making love, your cervix is just very sensitive when you are pregnant.
However, this does not sound to me like you are describing just a tiny bit of spotting. In my opinion if you are bleeding enough to need a pad you should be seen by a doctor. The bleeding could have nothing to do with the paps smear and it could just be a coincidence that you had one yesterday. I don't like the sound of it. I would call your doctor and ask to be seen, if they put you off with the "it is normal" routine, I would see another doctor or just go to the ER. Tell them what is going on and they will certainly evaluate you.
This does not sound right to me honey and this is one case where it is certainly better to be safe than sorry! I know that you will feel better if you are seen by a doctor.
Love and Blessings

Hi, it is normal to bleed a little after a pap. I usually do but it only lasts for a few hours and is very little. It sounds like you're bleeding a lot I would definitely call your ob first thing when they open to talk to a nurse. Probably nothing to be to concerned about, but it's always best to be on the safe side. Good Luck! I'm sure everything will be okay.

Bleeding is extremely common after Pap smears, due to the tiny brush scraping the delicate lining of the cervix. This type of bleeding does not result in any damage and will stop on its own. If you still are bleeding 3 days after your pap then call your doctor immediately

It is not abnormal to have some spotting. But if you have to change that pad today. Call your OB.
It's better to be safe then sorry. It is true what your OB said and everyone woman is different. I just do not think you should be bleeding - and in need of a pad -
Always call if you have doubts. They may be busy but it's their job to be there for you!

Happens to me every time, and they tell me the same thing - I have a sensitive cervix. If it lasts more than a couple of days, see your doctor as soon as possible.

No bleeding during pregnancy is "Normal"...They may have accidentally nipped something. Go back to another Doctor for a second opinion. People may say not to worry but, hey...this is your child we are talking about and you can never be to careful....

i never spotted or bled, that seems odd to me, but i suppose some women do. if your OB wasnt too worried than i would say to wait it out, but if the cramps are horrible and you cant stand it or you start bleeding more instead of less go ahead and go down to the ER, better to be safe than sorry and they will understand your concern.
good luck

It's normal, that happened to me. I think my spotting lasted about a day. Just try to relax, your doctor knows what he/she is doing.
