It depend.
if u wan a future proof card, wait for another month or 2 for the 8600utlra.
if u cant wait, get 2 8800 gtx in sli, it the most powerful game card at the moment, which allow dx10
get a 7900gs if there is a budget constrain. thou it the lowest end of a 7900 series, but it still consider 1 of the high end card with affordable price
ps. powerful gaming solution do not mean gpu only, u need high end cpu, mb and ram to work along with.

hope you have a deep pocket, there are several makes of graphics cards nvidia being the main one. they come with a big price tag
but to run these cards you need a top end motherboard, and processor,

your answer confused me. are you using AGP or PCI Express card? if you had a money you can buy Asus ATI X800XT at AGP card or HIS ATI X800XT if you have less money.
The X600XT chipset are good if you don;'t want to waste your money.Asus had a better performance than HIS,also ASUS are the expensive than HIS
and of corse Asus EAX1950PRO CrossFire/HTDP/256M are the best solution for now with the cross fire technology.that means yor motherboard had a two PCi express slot with ATI cross fire compliant chipset.
so the cross fire are you have to buy two EAX1950PRO CrossFire/HTDP/256M , with price about 1000 usd each.
well... what do you think? he he he....
or you can follow me like my Asus EAX1600XT SILENT/TVD/256Mb about 250 usd
and maybe you can buy HIS X1600XT 256 Mb with the cheaper price
I'd rather to buy grphic card with ATI chipset than NFidia
