Taste is personal, but if I like something (art, poetry, writing, or even food) and I share it with someone else it is in the hope that they will like it too and therefore there will be a bond made between me and with whomever I have shared my tastes and likes.

Yes...definitely! I cannot contain my enthusiasm. Why just last night I sent my friend 17 emails...each containing a different René Magritte. Interestingly, we were both quite fond of his, “L’Empire Des Lumières” (Empire Of Light). It is bonding to share admirations.

Yes.
But the problem is that I don't really know anyone that's interested in the work I admire, excluding my parents but that's because they're obliated to listen to me, lol.
It sucks having to appreciate something in isolation. Especially when you love it so much.

Yes, most definitely. I think most people like to have their work appreciated, sharing that with others is a great way to show that admiration.

Most of the time I do. I suppose I just get so excited that it has to be let out somehow. Any friend of mine now knows more about Frank Sinatra than they ever wanted to know :)

Yes, but because my view of the world is so different from many others', I am often met with indifference when I do share.
C'est la vie.
