Well I have a problem controling others and it's because if i dont have control I feel out of control. Don't think that all controlling people are terrible and rude because i'm not at all everyone has their own reasons for why they are the way they are. Some are controlling and possesive and me on the other hand every relationship I had was very flaky I could never depend on the other person to do what they said or get something done so now I feel like I need to do it and not wait on the other person to let me down.

I guess some people just can't help sticking their nose in other people's business. Some of them want things to be like THEY want and will try to take control to ensure that. Some others may feel like the people they are controlling can't take care of things themselves and need someone to 'guide' them to the 'right' decision.

People like who? Somebody whom you know? If they have their reasons and status, why not.
Example: Parents control their children, teachers control their students, employers control their employees on certain extent, etc, etc.
If somebody whom you do not know try to control you, then you can judge whether it is reasonable. If you really did something which is very annoying and is really wrong, then even a stranger can stop you. Example - vandalism.

I think its because they are very insecure and get strenth from making other people feel small. I had a friend like this and I kick myself now that I was so weak and didnt stick up for myself. Eventually I did, and It was the best thing I ever did. Her life is still a mess.

these "control freaks" always have to be in control.
what i hate is someone who always complains about other people's driving and yet they get into car crashes and motorcycle wrecks..but its never their fault.
my good friend hates the way i drive.so i just let him as he has to be in the passing lane all the time and i prefer the middle lane and not have to pass everyone ahead of me..its more relaxing to me..but he goes nuts and keeps screaming..pass them pass them..and i don't know how to judge my speed....but this is just one issue
hubby... seems to have to be in control of what i eat and how i spend all my money. Sometimes i just go out to Taco Bell (he hates fast foods and calls them junk_) but sometime i crave a burger, dough nut, or a gourmet coffee ala papa..so i have to sneak out or listen to his mouth..telling me not to eat Junk Food...this is something i would never do to him
