My samsung D500 phone is getting heated while charging or using it for longer time?

the battery is getting hot and some times while charging it shows a messagr"Check battery temperature"

Its a old cell and not under warranty now, is this a problem with cell or battery?

my samsung did this too. If its not old and under warranty the phone company will replace it...if you have to have it replaced more than once, the third time they will let you exchange it with another phone free of charge
