Because people identify themselves with a particular group / community. For obvious reasons they think they are better as a community compared to others. Also, they believe in the superiority of their faiths, customs and beliefs over other community's.

Up to this, thinks will move in a normal direction. However, when they feel that their community is endangered or threatened by other community in some or other forms, they develop a disliking for other communities and when this dislike exceeds the normal level of tolerance, it becomes 'hatred'!

ask to yourself...ask your parents ..ask those who hate other community...it is something which have to be removed from the society..GOD is not the creator of communities,he just created man and man created communities.I am an Indian..in India there many communities..it is a secular country..all people living in India are not communists..there are some fanatics who create such rivalry and hatreds among people's mind to win there goals.Ministers, media and the creatures who crave for fame do all such non-sense things.your question needs a serious discussion.instead of asking why?you should ask how to remove communal-ism ?

Have you ever heard the old sayings like Birds of a Feather Flock together, or Misery likes Company? People with similar traits whether learned or instinctual tend to find each other, can you imagine if a person who is caring and giving was to expose someone full of hatred to constant caring?
It would drive them nuts and they would seek the company of someone as bitter as they are.

very good question

Birth in a particular caste, in a certain religion, in a prejudiced ethnic class are the causes of hatred in India. Almost all the Indian hate is related to 'birth' of someone in some disliked home.

Perhaps a lack of proper communication with each other, no true understanding, everyone is right, which of course they are, but the lack of communication and understanding inhances this; including the lack of encouragement; instead of encouraging each other or saying a kind word or doing a kind deed we have decided to become too competitive; being competitive is fine, but it has its time and place. Then we come to deal with the shame policies each and every society holds.

hatred is the outward results of intolerance, indifference and fear of the unknown.

While we will always have some prejudices (such as choice of clothing patterns) I believe that the larger and more cancerous forms instigate the wars, lack of opportunities, and red-neck attitudes that show up in referendums in our elections.

To remedy this, I think that all 4 years of high school should have (1) multi-cultural classes as seen in college and (2) mandatory community service that also serve as credit for graduation.

theres no racism no community hatred. etc..its just a hatred for ideological differences....because ppl think its ok to sacrifice life and others ideologies to victor ones own..ideology sees no truth.,.scientists whose theories we study n respect today were burnt, branded hanged tortured etc because even though they were true they harmed popular ideology...ideology which actually binds people and makes them dependent on each other into a mass of interdependent people easily controlled by ideology and the few who preside over it...

This is human nature
1. countries hate other countries
2. cities hate other cities
3. towns hate other towns
4. villages hate other villages
5. families hate other families better off in the village
6. Brother hates brother in the same family
However, everyone unites when there is a external threat and behave like brother, but when there is no threat, the hatred starts.

There is only one reason for that- religious fanaticism. We have become so engrossed and affected by the beliefs we follow, that we are ready to do anyhing to glorify them. Everyone misinterprets their religion. The Hindus believe the Muslims are out to desroy them, the Christians believe their religious practices are neglected in India, etc etc. Nobody wants to be known as 'Indian' ; everyon is either Hindu, Muslim, Sikh....
