As an Englishman i am amazed at the high level of debate brought to this site by our American friends. When asking questions that are highly relevant and topical you are met with wisdom and graceful answers and never a "F**k off motherf**cker" type responce.
May i take this advantage and say well done Americans you really have class.

First off, we aren't your friends. And by that, I mean you personally.

Second off, we like to give intelligent answers to intelligent questions, and slobbering, drooling, mentally deficient answers to those who are likewise. Just so we can be on a level playing field and "relate to them". You should thank us.

When you decide to ask an actual question that doesn't start with the line "as an Englishman it always amazes me" followed by something along the lines of "that Americans can...........etc, etc, etc..." perhaps you'll get an intelligent answer.

Until then, go crawl back to the shallow end of the slime infested gene pool from which you came.

P.S. None of your questions have ever been anywhere near relevant or topical. I've read more profound questions on the wall of bathroom stalls while pinching a loaf.

As a Brit that goes to America often I would like to say this, on the whole Americans have very good manners and are a pleasure to engage in conversations and when was the last time you heard yes sir or excuse me mamm in the UK.
Of course there is exceptions but apart from the gun issues in the states, America has less violent crime than in the UK yes New York is way safer than London.
Now on the world stage America due to it's influence is the biggest boy on the block so as usual it gets slagged off by everyone who enjoys freedom of speach (most of them doing the slagging off have never bothered to go to America and find out what the people are like or even just the feeling of freedom you can feel there) oh and buy the way its America that protects your right of freedom.
Now whenever there is a crisis anywhere in the world and America does not respond these same people slag them off for being uncaring and isolationist well come on people what do you want an America that lets the rest of the free world getting its *** kicked or an America that takes an active role in making the world better.
To make it simple cutting away all the rubbish about Bush this Bush that the base line of American values are always at the bedrock of what they try to do and that is to promote freedom and democracy yes America wants to make money but so does every other country in the world except that other countries try to keep this a secret a bit better than America does.
As I have said in other posts anyone who spends most of their time slagging off the States is in the mode of the Politics of Envy.
My advice is get on a plane visit America and meet is hugely diverce people, you will meet folk from every colour race and creed but what America has got totally right is when you ask them they will say they are American first then they might mention that they are black or muslim or Jewish.
God bless America, Britian needs to remember that we are her and she is us and become even closer

Americans are not as 'thick' or 'dumb' as they're made out to be. I worked for an American company here in UK for 23 years. The Americans have much in common with us and are usually particularly good when it comes to politics and argument. They're much more used to dealing with issues in a democratic fashion. For example, every day, when I worked for this American company, we all went to the daily meeting. This included to the bosses their girlfriends, the workers and anyone else including the janitor and his crew of cleaners. At that meeting, which usually lasted for about half an hour, everyone had a chance to have their say about what the company was doing and where it was going. Minutes of the daily meeting were posted on the company notice board where everyone pinned up rude notes about each other, the company and the mess the economy was in etc.

Is there any reason why individual Americans on this site should show a different level of wisdom, rationality and cultural appreciation to that shown by them collectively as a nation?

I'm also amazed at the highly original answers they give to the intellectual conundrums that are frequently asked (like every 30 minutes): "Why are Americans so fat?", "Why is George Bush an idiot".
The rest of the world must be so pleased to have the US and their trusty side-kick Great Britain as guardians of freedom. We are all just so clever. I wouldn't be surprised if one day our brains simultanously implode. Then what will they all do? Eh? Eh?

Propaganda all over the net has become truth for most and the facts have become obscured to the point they are rejected outright without discussion.

i.e Rosie Donnell's conspiracy theories are somehow now fact just because she says so on her blog and on TV. Same goes for Al Gore's hysteria regarding his climate change theories.

Scary indeed!

I can't tell if you're serious, or you're critical of us. Your question is written like you're being honest, but the fact that you've posted this question at all makes me think you are just being critical.

Assuming it's the latter, I'd beg you not to get all of your ideas about Americans from what you see on here. There's simply not an accurate representation of all of America on this site. Those who wish to cause problems are also the ones who are heard above the rest, thus giving an inaccurate view of the U.S.

Just don't judge us too quickly.

If you are serious, then I would thank you for your kind words.
