Every 10000-20000 miles or a year depending which you get to first. Also check when it last had a timing belt change, thats usually every 4 years but if it has done alot of mileage or been 4yrs since the last change i'd advise you to get that done aswel!

It all depends on your driving style and the enviroment you live and drive in.

Your Pajero has a large engine and uses a lot of oil. Almost 2 gallons because of the oil cooler and has a large oil filter.

If engine gets a lot of hard driving and most of it is done on desert, polluted cities or areas where there is heavy dust and smog, then change oil and filter at lower intervals like every 3000 miles or so.

If you are light on the pedal, live in the suburbs where there is fresh air and fairly free from dust and pollution, change at longer intervals. Like 5000-6000 miles.

If you are not sure. Check the oil. Good oil should still show some of its original color and somewhat translucent. If you can still see through it, its still good. If its very dark then time for an oil change

I change my oil every 4K-5K miles as well as the oil filter.

Next, at 75K miles, better get those timing belts checked, as well as the fan belts. If you are getting bad mileage, you may want to have them check the valves as well. I recently had the cylinder head on my pajero serviced and had the valve seats resurfaced and replaced the valve seals. The car runs like new again.

You should service it in accordance with the service book. If you havent got one the company will send you one.

Make sure the cam belt is changed when required some cars this would be around 60k miles.

I would recommend that you change the oil & filter every 5 -6k miles & you should not have to use expensive oil if you regularly change it

This gets rid of small metal particles that wear other parts & keeps the engine in good condition

on the tip of the day any oil is extra effective than no oil, whether interior the long-term that is not a solid theory to place petrol oil in a diesel, quite in large parts, a precise up might desire to be large although. Diesel oil has extra chemical compounds in it to end gunk strengthen interior the engine. Petrol autos do not prefer this as much as there is far less soot interior the combustion technique.

I dont care what anyone says, change the oil every 3000 miles and you can't go wrong. Everything else, go by what the owners manual says.
