Everyone has that "junk drawer" or "storage closet/room", I also do this. I found a great website: www.flylady.net. FlyLady says "You can't organize clutter!" Set your timer for 15 mins and toss anything that doesn't make you happy. I hope you'll take a look.

The key to overcoming this si to take baby steps to get rid of the "clutter". Set a timer for 15 minutes (or less) and work on that drawer or other place that you stash stuff only until the timer goes off then quit. The next day do it again. As you are going through this process you will be less likely to ruin your "work in progress" and you put things where they belong. You can do anything for 15 minutes.

I think we all have one of those at home. Try this not just for organizing your drawer or closet. Set your alarm clock to go off in 15, min´s time . see how much you can do you will be surprised just how much you can achieve in this short amount of time. Leave the thing´s that don´t belong outside the room you are working in , they can be put back to their rightful places when you have finished. when the alarm goes off stop and have a rest , if you think you would rather carry on then do so if not finish for the day, reward yourself with a nice cup off tea or coffee, read a magazine, watch the TV . It works for me try for yourself 15, min´s here and there makes a big difference

Date the stuff in the drawer or make a list of the stuff and when you use it, note the date. After six months look at the stuff you noted and set aside. Box and note all the other stuff and put in a box. Note the date on the box. After a year goes by without using the box give the contents away to charity.
