I have heard stories from all areas and read a fair bit about it..... the two most convincing are,
1 that it somehow has a strong magnetic field that affects elctro magnetics and thus also affecting time etc,,,,,,kinda like the philedelphia experiment,,,, one scuba diver dived once, looking for a wreck, when he surfaced his ship was no longer anyone to be seen, but another ship, which had disapperared 50 years before was present, he boarded it and found it void of human life, he once again dived , resurfaced and found his ship in the correct place,,,,,,ever seen event horizon,,,,? as well as the famous ww2 story of a whole fleet of planes disappearing amongst various others.
2. during the slave period in the states, thousands of slaves were dumped into the ocean in that area off the american coast,,,,, some believe it is them that haunts the area.
3. of course there is the e.t critters that have a secret underground base there, and are producing a breed of vile super humanoids to seize the planet, terrafirm it and take it over,,,,, the likes of paris hilton, guy sabastion and bush.
Nuke em, nuke em all!

Both truth and myth
It's true that many ships/planes have been lost there, but so far it's myth to say why it's happening as no one knows.
Current scientific feeling is that the cracks in the earths crust under the triangle sometimes release large pockets of gas.
These break surface tension on the water causing ships to sink, this also affects the uplift on any low flying planes (and the majority of planes lost were low flying) they also contain magnetism due to coming from deep down in the earth and this causes instumentation on planes to fail

The Bermuda Triangle itself exists, but there is much speculation about the disappearances that occur around the Bermuda Triangle.
