My gf is the only one who knows i like to cross dress. I have for the past 10 yrs. I want to come out of the closet some time soon, but dont know how to let friends and family know. Should i let them catch me, or should i warn them first ? Please let me know what your thoughts are.

Just drop it on them,,,, doll up in ya fanciest gear and stun em. if it dont work out right, at first tell them its a gag,,, then slowly do it more often, thus appearing that you yourself have become accustomed to it.

Be careful with this one. I treat it on a "need to know" basis and most people don't need to know. Most of my friends are aware that I do this and I am open about it with them (IE being dressed or visiiting them dressed) but work and family can be a different situation.
Weigh up the options and when you've decided and are 100% sure I would just break it to them directly in person and offer to discuss it with them so they can learn what it's about and not believe all the garbage stereotypes out there. Be frank and discuss it openly.

I think you should be honest with them. Just sit them down and tell them. I'm not saying it will be easy, but if it was me, I would be disappointed that you felt you couldn't tell me and had to just let me catch you. If I was a family member and I cared about you, the lack of honesty would hurt more than finding out you are a cross dresser.

The best thing I would do is to tell you family first, get them all togetherin one room, but be dressed as a man, not a woman, because it may freak them out, and basically say, that you dress as a woman all day, and obviously they will be shocked and maybe speechless. Hopefully they will respect you for coming out and saying that.

how important is it that others know that you enjoy cross dressing?? Most people will freak out, no matter how open minded they think they are. Pick and choose carefully who you come out to. Check out cross dresser clubs and find out where they meet. have fun. It's good that your g/f knows and understands.

If they are your friend tell them. Its just how you feel about yourself. They can do what they want and you want the freedom to do the same. Good luck sometimes it is hard Tobe different

I suggest you dress up and be casual about it. If they don't mind, that's good. If they ask, just say you like it.
