I have been using the Hokey Pokey song for years as a warm up for my students before they go on stage to perform. It is a great, fun way to get them motivated and ready to go. But, I've been using this song for years and I think it's time to find something new. Does anyone know of a similar type of song that involves a fun dance that I could use?

We used the Hokey Pokey song at our skating rink for years, until the kids started requesting the 'Cha Cha Slide' . It's simular ,but more modern steps and music..and it really gets the kids moving (we do it before the kids put on their skates)..lots of jumps and hops

Having considered the answers underneath your question...I say this " Your own is the best" .....as everyone knows it...don't need a CD to play it, a la "cha cha slide".
Change isn't always for the better. However, to warm me up before speaking in public. I get my wooden spoon out before I go and blast out Meat loaf songs at the top of my voice...always makes me feel invincible! x

Knees up mother brown.

Some time ago my wife tells me that she and her brothers were asked to play the national anthem where they were performing. They didn't know it so played this instead. Half the crowd took part and the other half just stared at them.

I think you mean the Hokey Cokey...Do your students look at you as if you are daft when you say Pokey instead of Cokey?

Easter is coming up. Introduce the kids to the "Bunny Hop," or Heaven forbid, the "Macarena."
