My son has the same problem sometimes and I found it is because he doesn't actually scrub his scalp with his finger nails, he just uses the the flats of his fingers and hands. So basically all he is washing is the hair not his scalp. Maybe you could wash her hair really good for her once and see if that makes a difference.

It could be the shampoo and conditioner. It could be something a bit more serious like a scalp condition. Maybe at school they are styling each others hair? Some hairsprays stink! I suggest you see a skin doctor.
Good luck!

I used to be a hairdresser and I have never heard this or come across it. I would strongly advise not to keep washing her hair it will strip it of all the natural oils. I would go and see your GP. Please let me know how you get on
