As an ex landscape gardener I often used railway sleepers and I found loads of places on the internet.Just type in railway sleepers.I used to get mine from a place just south of Nottingham who specialised in railway sleepers, fence posts and oak barrels.Expect not to pay more than £25 each. You can get all sorts, Pine, Oak, salt treated, soaked in pitch, some from Siberia even. You'd be wasting your time with yellow pages, good luck.

Errie is right, railway ties may look great in a garden or in someone's yard but they can be a hazard to your plants and your yard. I have heard this from many other sources as well. And like nearly everyone else has stated they can also be spendy. Look into other options before you just jump into it. perhaps old bricks, they look neat, and won't leak oil and other environmentally hazardous things into your garden.

Try looking under garden designers, nurseries etc. They might not sell them, but might be able to tell you who does.
