My local radio station tried it out the other day and it didn't work. However, they had someone call in and say it worked for them once. It might depend on the type of phone you have.

Hmmm.. Interesting theory. If the remote that is being used uses a sound wave instead of a radio wave then there would be no reason why it would not work. However just about all the FOB's in use today send a radio signal out from them to the computer that commands the computer to unlock the doors. Last time I check radio waves do not translate over cell phone or any other phone. The clarity of the cell phone will matter as well for the sound wave. When Onstar sends the signal it passes though the satellite signal. This is most likely where the person came up with the idea. But then that’s a wide area broadcast to the Onstar system in the car. I think a little more research should be done in this area. But I bought the newer FOB's work in this fashion.

Poeple are stupid. NO that doesn't work, the remote works through radio waves not sound.

The point is not weather it works or not. The point is not to be so stupid to have to try it.
