If you download Yahoo Messenger directly from Yahoo site, it doesn't contain any virus. Having said that, people do get virus from clicking on links sent to them via Messenger. Never click on the link in your chat window if you don't know who sent it to you.

i heard my friend talking about yahoo messanger giving him a virus...
it depends where u download it from...
if you download yahoo messanger from yahoo u wont get any spyware/viruses
if you still dont wanna take a risk get a spyware remover
