I just passed second time round a week ago, what I found useful was to put a little sticker on the side window at the point of turn and aim for that everytime, after a while you get your eye in and don't need the sticker anymore, good luck!!

Sorry to hear that. No doubt your instructor is planning some concentration on that aspect - it IS true that practice makes perfect. Some quiet car park is useful, so you can stop, get out and look at where the car is in relation to the slot you're aiming for.

I have an ADI neighbour who has a cardboard "road", with some toy cars and one with steering which he uses for this specific problem.

My (very experienced) better half has a problem with reverse parking whenever she gets a different car, and she goes away and practices quietly until she gets it right. You are not alone!
Good luck.

Get a friend or someone that already has a license to help you.But you best bet is to practice.Try this when 'Parallel' parking.Pull up along side of vehicle that you will be parking behind. Now turn wheels all the way toward the right.Actually turn you head and look out rear window.Back up slowly, when you 'yourself' ieven with the rear end of the vehicle, start straightening your wheels. As the nose of your vehicle gets clear of the vehicle now start turning the wheels to the left as you back up slowly and watch as the front of your vehicle comes to the curb.Place your vehicle in Park and put on your emergency brake on.This is required at test.Did you remember to place your car in Park and set Parking (emergency) Brake at your test? You can fail if not done. Also, remember to use your directional lights when parking.

Bad luck! When I learned to drive reversing around a corner was my manouver that I always struggled with. Unfortunately, it came up on the test but this time I managed it perfectly. I suspect that during my lessons my teacher was forcing me to do it too slowly and once 'let loose' I reversed slightly faster at a speed more comfortable for me.

The best advice is practice, practice, practice. Keep trying and you'll get it. Next test it may not even come up.

The key is practice. Reverse parking is one of those things that you will suddenly "get". Just keep trying and try not to let it get you down.

You need to be familiar with the car's turning circle and with its length. When your back wheels are getting near to the kerb, bring the front end round. Also, it's better to slightly brush your wheels on the kerb rather than end up sticking out into the road.

Try watching other people do it, from inside and outside of the car. Watch the way they control the car and try to replicate that.

I'm sure you did, but you should also be sure to take your test in the same car you learn in. Even a different car of the same size will have different shape windows, different blind spots etc and will be different to park for a little while.

Hope this helps! Good luck on your next test!

Its a common enough problem area so dont feel to despondent.

The way I learned to reverse park was to align my car mirror to mirror with the car I was parking behind. Start to reverse and when my wing mirror was aligned with the back of the car turn the wheel in about 3/4 lock. When the back of my car was about 2'' off the kerb turn my wheels to 3/4 opposite lock. You will then straighten up and voila!

Just keep practising, for me it was reversing round a corner.

Take it sluggish and hassle-free. you assert you're no longer nervous yet once you're making the littlest errors, some thing is unlikely correct on your head. only take it easy. Do you undergo in concepts the course you took? possibly doing a number of laps down those roads will supply you a greater advantageous experience of the lay of the land and you have an much less difficult time doing recurring issues like braking and turning. the entire factor of the driving force's try is to make specific you're able to working the automobile effectively so which you do no longer harm your self and others, for this reason the "using completely". good success and thank you for struggling with for our freedom!

Go slow and take your time. It takes a lot of practice. take some time and with a parent or experianced friend find a parking lot with no cars. Get some orange cones (Often found at sporting good stores) and put them on the lines in the parking lot. then pratice your manevers. One you have it down take the test in the same car. that way you have the comfort and experiance with that car. hope this helps.

I had problems with parallel parking. Luckily i didnt get it on my test and got the 3 point turn, reverse round a corner and reverse parking.

If thats what you failed on, get your instructor to give you a full hour on it.

Practice makes perfect.

Then.... When you can do it, go for your test and you probably wont have to do it. lol
