You have to be born with a certain talent to become a singer. You need the ability to hear pitches in your head and match them and to just be blessed with a good voice. There are people that naturally are tone-deaf or just have horrible tones. Of course, you can take singing lessons but that only helps if you have some real talent and promise to begin with. Anyone can learn to act to a certain point..they know where to put emphasis on words and how to show emotion on their face. However you can only become a mediocare actor unless you were again, born with the natural gift for acting. So, in the end, both are extremelly challenging but singing is something you can't learn to be good at.

I think that acting would be harder. Almost anybody can get a contract singing even if they haven't much talent (which is the case with most singers today). However, to really portray a character in a play or movie, and become that person to make the part flawless and real, takes abundant talent.

well, it really depends on the person. but i would say singing is harder because you can't sing unless you've got a good voice that can proceed to learn to sing to get a great voice but for acting anybody can act. if you think about we act at least once a day.

Both are difficult in their own respects.

Singing is difficult because you need to stay in time, in key and have the right voice for the song (i.e. a gentle sound for a sad song, an airy voice for a scary song, a scratchy voice for a hardcore rock song).

Acting may not be difficult technically (although many classics have certain timing and dynamic indications), but it's hard to get the right feeling across. You need to be totally in-character to do a fantastic job at acting. You may also need to put on an accent, or make other adjustments to the way you are in order to fit the character you play.

Acting all you have to is read a script in front of a camera to whereas singing its live and performing in front of a concert of thousand of people watching you and this is daunting for the performer especially in front of screaming fans.singing is not only full frontal in your face but it will be a lot harder to get over stage nerves

I Would Guess Singing

Yeah, it all depends on how you're wired together. As an actor, I reckon I'm pretty much fearless; there's nothing that I won't attempt on stage, if the play requires it.

But SINGING...??? Oy. The few times that I've had to sing onstage, I've felt as though I was totally naked...not comfortable at all.

Singing. In acting, no matter what happens to you or your body, you can almost always find a role to play. Singing-you're done when your voice has a problem. What do you think? Thanks for asking!!!

For me singing is much more difficult. People who are naturally gifted with song probably find acting more difficult.
