no offense but if you have to ask this question, clearly you are NOT ready to have sex. it's common sense. it's in the books. it's on tv. it's in newspapers and magazines. if you're not catching the hint, DON'T DO IT.

The most important fact to remember is that nothing is 100% garenteed again becoming pregnant. That said there are many birth control methods out there that your doctor can give you information about. Birth control pills, cervical caps, morning after pills, condoms... the list goes on. You need to find the one that you prefer.

If you are looking for natural methods that do not requireany of those things then you are going to have to do a lot of research. Learn all that you can about the male reproductive system and the female reproductive system. Education is power. You also need to understand how your body works. You actually can only get pregnant when there is sperm and egg present in your uterus. So learn when you ovulate and either abstain from sex during that time or use a condom or other barrier method to stop the seamen from having contact with your egg.

Having sex, means there is always a risk of pregnancy as no contraceptive is 100% proof, my advice would be make sure you are ready for the possibility of having a baby before having sex and ensure you are with a loving partner who you fully trust and love with all your heart and don't be pressured into having sex by your friends or boyfriends, just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean you have to, chances are your friends haven't done it either and are trying to be cool about it. Please be sensible and think before rushing into it. Once you lose your virginity you cant get it back so think of how special you want it to be and remeber you can enver go back once the deed is done.

take it from someone who had sex for the first time....and got pregnant...then i had to place my baby up for adoption because i was unable to take care of her
try not to do it...if you really want to and think you are ready...tell your mom...if you are scared to talk to your mom, write her a letter and tell her that you are thinking about it and would really like to talk about it, instead of going behind her back and getting pregnant like i did.
she might freak out...but what would you do if your kid told you that they wanted to hae sex...she might tell you not to do it or she will punish you for life..etc
after she calms down in a few days...you and your mom will be closer than you ever thought...

you can get pregnant on the pill and with condoms, but you are less likely to get a disease with condoms...
but boys don't like condoms and will say just this time we can do it without....tell him that you are giving up a part of yourself, but not your life. USE A CONDOM!!!

and i hate to tell you this, because i don't want to encourage you...but if you have no choice, call the local health unit or a pregnancy care center in the yellow pages, and you can just walk in there and tell the girl at the front desk that you need condoms and they will not ask you any questions at all ..and they cannot tell your parents by law...they will give you a bag of them for free ...but use them, don't be stupid, not even 1 time....it only took 1 time for me to get pregnant and 1 time for my best friend to die of AIDS...and the guy didn't even stick around!

I agree with the other answers, you aren't ready for that step yet. Anyways, just because u really want to know. There is a certain cycle for the production of egg cells in women every month. Menstruation occurs when the egg cell isn't fertilized while it stays inside your body before getting released in the form of blood. During this cycle, timing counts best. If you mate right before an egg cell is released then there's no harm for u. Like, if you mated after your menstrual period then obviously there isn't any other egg cell released yet (ovaries normally release one egg cell each month) so there won't be anything for the sperm cell to fertilize. But the danger isn't over right there yet. The sperm cell has a time span of staying inside your body before it gets discharged (it could be days or so.. it might be best for me not to give too much details here). If ever another egg cell is released while the sperm cell hasn't been discharged yet, then they could still meet and result into pregnancy. This is why in some cases women get pregnant even without having sex for several days or uninstantaneously. So you need to really count down the days since your menstrual period, and determine your fertile days, and be careful not to overdo it with sex. The saying "too much is bad enough" really comes alive here. If you have too much sex, taking for granted that you aren't fertile that time yet, but then take note that it isn't over when both of you reach your release. Example, you have 2 more days of "unfertility" left so you and your boyfriend tend to enjoy it to the maximum.. But his sperm stays inside you for days and when a new egg cell comes, then.... u know what will happen.

This is the natural method.. Using contraceptives such as pills and condoms are other alternatives but aren't usually safe. Others use the method of withdrawal (withdrawing the male's penis just before he ejaculates). But be informed that this isn't 100% safe as well. Studies have shown that sperm cells can be found in "pre ***" as well. This pre *** is the fluid which flows out of the male's penis before and during intercourse, its purpose is to moisten the male's shaft for easier entrance into the female's genital. Condoms can break, and pills can still prove ineffective too. You'll be taking big risks: risking your health and risking the chance of getting impregnated.

You won't have to worry much about getting pregnant if you have sex after you get married though. I suggest you save yourself the trouble and wait for the right time. You should also know all about something before jumping right into it.. so no need to rush.

Take care..

It is clearly not possible to have sex without risking a pregnancy. All though birth control is an idea it has also been known to fail. Condoms have failed if not used properly and I'll be damned self control has also been at the top of the failure list too.

My advice to you is please to the world a favor and take proper precautions. Talk with whom ever you are being intimate with and ask them to use proper measures as well. You will save your self a headache.

The best way to avoid getting pregnant is not to have sex. Sex is shared between a couple in marriage. Sex is not to be entered into because your hormones are begging for it or the boy is insisting on moving to the next level. I am at best old fashioned but it is best to give one special gift to your husband on your wedding night.

simple you don't! Keep your pants on until your are ready to be a parent! no form of birth control is 100% effective. You also need to take into consideration that you can get AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases from having sex. These can kill or or impair your ability to have children when your old enough to make a mature decision. If your boyfriend/girlfriend really care they will accept your decision and will support you if they don't ,then they weren't worth keeping anyway. your a baby yourself you don't need to have sex until your married! no reason for babies to have babies

if you have to ask this you should not be having sex. If you really have to satisfy your needs (as we all do young and old), just try heavy petting, kissing etc for the time being. Otherwise, if you haven't a clue how not to get preggers, you'll be buying a buggy in 9 months
