It is normal dont worry, remaing number of ram is consumed by graphic adapters and other internatal cards.
My computer has 196 Mb of ram but it show 184Mb.

before you bught memory, you should know your motherboard first. If your motherboard have a dual channel technology like intel chipset 865 or higher and ATIx200,nFidia 400 or else.
the dual channel means you have to put the same exactly memory at the same bank slot memory .for example you have four slot you have to put in the same color (slot 1 and slot 3,slot 2 and slot 4).
and you have to buy same kind frequency (512 Mb ddr 400/pc 3200)and same manufacture memory.Example if your old memory is Samsung 512 Mb ddr 400/pc3200 and then you buy Kingston 512 Mb ddr 333/pc2700 the dual channel doesn't work.
In some case like that, the computer doesn't turn on.
In your case your computer had a degradation and working in safe mode.
Better you unplug your new memory before it harm your computer.Lucky your motherbord doesn't hang.

properly, he's suitable, that is being taken via your onboard video card. whether, that not in basic terms applies to older structures yet maximum new structures to boot. From the precise of my head the Radeon Xpress 200M, X300 and X1400 with hypermemory and nVidia 6200TC, 6400 flow will all take some reminiscence from ram although that occurance is far less with the X1400 and 6200/6400 taking part in cards. yet there are extra robust taking part in cards that may not take reminiscence in any respect, basically the taking part in cards not listed right here and any sequence above them.
