There is an online technology satire website that jokes about this exact scenario. They seem to release less and less to ensure headlines of "PS3 sells out in record time"...

Check the link.

They are nowhere near selling out. Case in point, the media is shouting about how awesome it was of sony to give massive bravia LCD's to everyone who turned up at the launch.

Problem is, the TV's were only for the first 100 people. Only slightly more than 100 people turned up.

You'll have no issues walking in and buying a PS3 next week - the PS3 isn't selling out, and the vast majority of shops have more than enough stock.

You should have preordered one, all the shops in the country supplying them have a preorder service where you would put something like £20-£50 down to be guaranteed one when they came out. You'll be lucky to get one next week as is the case with every console luanch they put in limited numbers to get people rushing to buy them, whereas if they had 1000's people would take thier time in buying

You will be fine.

Look at Ebay, they are selling for less than their retail prices.

Except for the muppets who bid on a £600 unit

Amazon have over 1000 in stock at the moment
